The 2006 Culture Night, "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness," has come to an end, to the stunning attendance of over seven hundred audience members. A heartfelt "thank you" goes to all our performers, as well as those without whom this year's show would not have been as successful. To our sponsors and past alumni, for their continuing support, we extend our thanks and all our grattitude.
Cultural Night
The annual Cultural Night show by the Chinese Association is a project of great magnitude undertaken by the student members to spread cultural awareness in the Chinese tradition. Each year the members of CA collaborate to put on a dramatic production at the Bren Events Center, featuring acts such as graceful cultural dances, dynamic hip-hop dances, action-packed martial arts, and elegant musical performances, all in the Chinese tradition.
Cultural Night is a completely student-run production. Any member interested in being in the show can participate. To participate in CA's Cultural Night, or for more information, please contact Andrew and Jessica (ca.culturenight@gmail.com), our Cultural Co-Chairs. Though members usually filter into their areas of interest and expertise, no experience is necessary to perform. All a member needs is a healthy interest to become a part of the show, whether on or off stage.
Ultimately, Cultural Night culminates in a fulfilling project for all who are involved. For club members, this results in a rewarding experience in bonding and getting involved with the club. For the audience, it provides insights to the Chinese culture, and entertainment. The Chinese Association takes pride in raising cultural awareness and entertaining their audiences.
Pre-Show Acts

Perform in front of a large audience at the Bren Events Center where live shows and events play to Orange County area. Work with a professional lighting and sound crew, and feel like a star.
